Our staff

Get to know our school staff. We're all here to help.

Our professional, university-educated teachers encourage students to develop a love of learning and a desire to succeed. They maintain the highest integrity and concern for your child’s wellbeing.

The principal is responsible for the educational leadership and management of our school. If you would like to speak to the principal, please contact us to make an appointment.

Our school administrative staff can answer inquiries or direct you to the appropriate staff member for help.

Current staff

Ms Jodee Burcher is our Principal

Ms Burcher has been teaching since 1989. She is passionate about public education and strives for our school to be current and innovative. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats. She lives locally and loves reading about zombies!

She is a teaching principal and is currently teaching students in Years 1 and 2.

School administrative staff

Ms Grant - School Administrative Manager

Ms Grant is our technology guru and office expert. She can fix anything to do with computers and looks after all the teachers. She is an expert in band aids and ice packs. She has 3 grown up children and is a fabulous photographer. She also cooks AMAZING cakes! Mmmmmmm......cake.....

Mrs Bush - School Administration Officer

Mrs Bush works in the office with Mrs Grant and is a super-duper organiser who is very good at throwing out stuff we no longer need. She has 3 grown up children and 3 grandchildren and lives in a beautiful stone house in the bush and loves to bushwalk. She has a very apt name!

 

 

Mrs Balfoort  - Classroom Teacher

Mrs Balfoort is the longest serving member of the Rylstone PS team. She has lived and worked in the Rylstone area for over 35 years.

She has 4 grown up children and several grandchildren.

Mrs Balfoort LOVES  ice cream and anything to do with Art. She's the one who thinks up the wacky and fantastic costumes for our end of year play. She helps run the SRC and is the mastermind behind most of the fun 'activity' days we have here.

 

Ms Burns - Classroom Teacher

Ms Burns is our new recruit. She began at our school fresh out of Uni in 2016. She is a local girl and can shear a sheep, ride a horse and wanted to be an Olympic runner! She loves sport (watch out Mrs D!) and the students love her. She is young and enthusiastic and is crazy about mentos lollies!

Mrs D'Ilio - Classroom Teacher

Mrs D'Ilio is sports crazy and loves anything to do with sport. She lives locally and has 2 children and used to grow grapes. She  enjoys reading young adult and children's literature in her spare time...oh and did we mention she loves sport??

Mrs Mulvaney - Classroom Teacher

 
Mrs Mulvaney is quite new to our school and the area. She spent most of her life on the Central Coast but is enjoying the change. She loves teaching Maths and making people really understand because it wasn’t easy for her! When she’s not busy, she spends time in her garden, eat lots of snacks, does creative things and goes out adventuring.

 

School Learning Support Officers

Mrs Stokes

Mrs Stokes has 3 grown up children who all went to our school. She helps the teachers and assists students during learning activities. She loves gardening and is always in our school vegie patch! She lives in a really old slab house out of town.

Mrs Morris

Mrs Morris works with students on the QuickSmart program. She must like Maths because she is teaching students how to further develop their mathematical skills. She has 2 children at our school and her favourite dessert is Tiramisu.

 

 

 

 

Mrs Kane

Mrs Kane works with students on the MacqLit program. 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs McCouat

Mrs McCouat helps in the Kinder room.

General Assistant

Mr Slapp

Mr Slapp or 'Slappy' as he is affectionately known as is our Mr Fixit. There is nothing he can't do or fix. He has a solution to everything we ask of him and he loves to cycle when he's not fixing.

Cleaner

Janice

Janice keeps our school sparkly clean. She fusses over the windows and keeping our floors polished. She drives a super fast car and lives in the next town.
